Website Terms of Use

Effective date: October 8, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of theresponsedesk.net (the “Site”), operated by DPI Consulting d/b/a The Response Desk (“The Response Desk™,” “we,” or “us”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you hire us, the client agreements you sign will also govern that work, and they control if they conflict with these Terms.

1. Not a law firm; no legal advice

The Response Desk is a letter-writing and communications service, not a law firm. Nothing on the Site, including articles, guides, examples, sample letters, and references to any code, act, or statute, is legal, tax, financial, or medical advice. It is general information only. Using the Site, reading our articles, or contacting us through the Site does not create an attorney-client relationship or any professional relationship, and messages you send us are not protected by attorney-client privilege.

2. No reliance on Site content

Laws, deadlines, and procedures differ by state and change over time, and the Site may not reflect the most current law. Do not act, or decide not to act, on anything you read on the Site without checking the current rule that applies to you and, for anything with legal or financial consequences, consulting a licensed professional. Sample letters and examples are illustrations, not templates for your situation. You use the Site’s content at your own risk.

3. Your deadlines

You are solely responsible for identifying and meeting every deadline that applies to you. Contacting us, booking a consultation, or waiting for a reply from us does not pause or extend any legal deadline.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Site for any unlawful, fraudulent, harassing, or abusive purpose; submit false information or information about another person without their permission; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems; interfere with the Site’s operation, including with bots, scrapers, or malicious code; or copy, republish, or sell Site content except as allowed in Section 5.

5. Our content and trademarks

The Site’s text, design, graphics, and methods, including The 6-Pass Method™ and our course materials, belong to The Response Desk and are protected by copyright and trademark law. The Response Desk™ and The 6-Pass Method™ are trademarks of DPI Consulting, and you may not use them without our written permission. You may view and print Site pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. Any other use requires our written permission.

6. Links to other sites

The Site links to government agencies, courts, legal aid organizations, and other third-party sites for your convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or current.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Response Desk and its owners, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site or its content, including any missed deadline. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Site will not exceed one hundred dollars ($100). This section does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Response Desk and its owners, employees, and contractors from any claims, damages, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, brought by any person, business, or government agency and arising from your misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your use of any Site content.

10. Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming. Any claim arising from your use of the Site must be brought within one (1) year after it arises, on an individual basis only and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative proceeding, in the state or federal courts located in Sheridan County, Wyoming, or in small claims court. If you bring a claim that a court finds frivolous or brought in bad faith, you will pay our reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs of defending it.

11. Changes and severability

We may update these Terms by posting a new version with a new effective date; continued use of the Site means you accept the update. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
