For open-ended, complex, or ongoing work that a flat fee doesn’t fit — letter planning, writing coaching, research, and correspondence whose scope isn’t yet clear. Time is billed transparently; any out-of-pocket materials are passed through at cost, never marked up.

Materials & pass-through, billed at cost — government or agency filing fees, records and document-retrieval fees, third-party reports or data, and bulk printing or exhibit reproduction. Estimated up front and itemized on your invoice.
Note — Two-hour minimum on standalone hourly work; time is tracked and billed in 15-minute increments. A written estimate and a not-to-exceed cap follow the free consultation. Fixed-fee packages remain available wherever scope is clear; if a package turns genuinely open-ended, we’ll agree on hourly billing with you in writing before continuing.
